Nuclear Fracking?

Did you know that one of the first attempts at ‘fracking’ for shale gas used a nuclear weapon? In Colorado in 1969, the government tried to release natural gas using a nuclear weapon. That’s weird.

Some in the DC political sphere have argued that the price of war will not be high, that the risk of regional war is exaggerated. This is propaganda, not strategic analysis.

The talks between the Taliban and the United States must be about more than securing an exit plan. Afghanistan and Pakistan should be allowed to participate in these discussions and the talks must acknowledge Iran’s impact in the region. These moves would be a step in the right direction to creating a stable environment after US military involvement ends.
