ASP Fellow Joshua Foust was interviewed for his most recent paper on drone strikes for PoliticoPro last week.
“If and when something bad happened relating to drones in Pakistan, because the program is so covert, the government cannot officially acknowledge that a drone was used in the first place,” Foust said. “In an ideal world, at least portions of that playbook would be made public so we could at least understand what goes into these strikes, we can understand the accountability mechanisms that go into either preventing bad things from happening or dealing with and managing the consequences.”
