ASP Fellow Joshua Foust is quoted in The National Interest on the deteriorating security environment in Afghanistan as US and NATO troops continue to conduct training missions ahead of the 2014 exit date.
“The training mission is the foundation of the current strategy. Without that mission, the strategy collapses. The war is adrift, and it’s hard to see how anyone can avoid a complete disaster at this point.”
