Briefing Note – Russian State Media
With the ongoing war in Ukraine, Americans are paying more notice to Russia’s attempts to tell its story though media outlets like RT. Russia’s state media has presented alternative explanations of events such as the destruction of MH17, causing many in the West to marvel at the stories Russia is propagating.
This briefing note presents a brief overview of Russian state media, and explores some of the issues around its influence.
