ASP Fellow Joshua Foust interviewed by BBC Azeri
ASP Fellow Joshua Foust was interviewed for BBC Azeri on the subject of Ambassador Morningstar’s recent visit to the statue of former President Heydar Aliyev. A photo depicting the Ambassador with his head lowered before the memorial generated much debate about the significance of the Ambassador’s gesture. Foust dismisses arguments that Ambassador Morningstar was “bowing” in deference to Aliyev’s memory, asserting that he was likely acting as any diplomat would and simply showing respect for a former head of state.
