ASP Fellow Joshua Foust discusses drones in Financial Times
ASP Fellow Joshua Foust is quoted in the Financial Times on the subject of drones in the context of the US presidential election. The candidate elected to the Presidency will face pressure to be more transparent about how the U.S. uses drones as part of its counterterrorism operations and what effects drone strikes have.
“’In lots of ways, drones have taken the place of US strategic decision-making,’” says Joshua Foust, a former intelligence official now at the American Security Project think-tank. “’People think if there is a problem and it is difficult to get to, then let’s use drones to solve the problem.’”
