Europe begins three year climate change project
Today 14 institutes from Europe, North Africa, the Middle East kicked off a three year research initiative dedicated to analyzing the effects drought, flooding, and rise of sea-levels will have on the intensification of social tension and conflicts in Europe and Africa. The project, entitled Climate Change, Water Conflict, and Human Security (CLICO), aims to find new ideas on public policies and institutions to guarantee peace and security for the effected populations. Specifically, they will look at conflicts related to water sources in regions such as Niger and Egypt.
