ASP’s BGen Stephen Cheney and Andrew Holland Quoted on Climate Change in McClatchy Article
On August 8, 2017, ASP’s CEO BGen Stephen Cheney, USMC (Ret.) and Director of Studies Andrew Holland were featured in an article by McClatchy about the national security implications of climate change. The article discusses the climate change views of the Trump Administration’s advisors with military experience. Specifically, the article focuses on former Homeland Security Secretary and current White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Their concerns about the national security impact of climate change are largely aimed at preventing instability and transnational crime in Central and South America and maintaining Navy installations threatened by rising sea levels.
