Washington Times: Nuke-Smuggling Network in Demand

The Washington Times this morning reports that U.S. intelligence has seen evidence in recent months of efforts to reach out to member of the A.Q. Khan nuclear-smuggling network.  Specifically, sources site that

agents from several foreign governments–including Brazil, Burma, Iran, Nigeria, North Korea, Sudan and Syria–pursued members of the network named after . . . the father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program.

Interestingly, other intelligence officials in the same story disputed the assessment or suggested that these approaches may have been by individuals working on their own and not at the direction of any government–a possibility that sends chills down my spine.
