American Security Project Thinks Digital, Welcomes Amber Allen As New Press Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C., 27 September 2010 – The American Security Project (ASP) today announced the appointment of Amber Anastasia Allen as Press Secretary.

Dr. Jim Ludes, the Executive Director of ASP said: “It is pleasure to have Mrs. Allen join ASP as our new Press Secretary. Amber’s corporate PR background coupled with her specialized experience in digital communications and media analysis is a great addition to our communications strategy and our social media outreach initiatives.”

Dr. Ludes went on to say: “Amber’s background in digital communications will be critical to ASP’s effort to foster an honest public dialogue about national security. We’re delighted to have her on our team.”

Amber Allen said: “I’m excited to join an organization that is eager to continue driving its noble communications goals and truly values public discourse. Amber Allen is the Press Secretary at the American Security Project, where she focuses on creating effective online and offline communications strategies.  Prior to joining ASP, Amber was a Senior Account Executive for Hill & Knowlton.  Amber has also worked at Teach For America Metro D.C. as Office Manager and Assistant to the Executive Director.  She holds a B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in Spanish Language, from Spelman College, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
