ASP Sends Letter To Congress Regarding Ex-Im Bank
On Thursday, November 14, 38 former senior military officers, policymakers, and business leaders signed a letter to congressional leadership, urging the long-term reauthorization of the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
Signatories include American Security Project Consensus Member Lieutenant General John Castellaw, USMCA (Ret.), ASP President Brigadier General Stephen Cheney, USMC (Ret.), and ASP Board Members Senator Gary Hart and General Lester Lyles, USAF (Ret.).
The letter to Congressional leadership illustrates the strategic importance of national credit export agencies in advancing domestic businesses and national interest. Both Russia and China have utilized their export finance to promote their geostrategic influence at the expense of the US and our allies. A reliable and competitive Ex-Im Bank is vital to the success of U.S. companies overseas. Long-term reauthorization will protect and promote U.S. national interests.
The letter was drafted by the Nuclear Energy Institute, which supports and advocates for the U.S Nuclear Industry.
