On Tuesday, December 7, Annie Aleman was featured on NEWSY to discuss the escalation of U.S.-China relations.
In the segment, Aleman discussed the Biden administration’s move to announce a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Olympic games in China in response to questionable human rights practices in China’s Xinjiang region. Aleman emphasized that this was the right decision for the Biden Administration to make in supporting western democracy and human rights.
“The U.S. is sending the right message to both China and the rest of the world. The ongoing genocide of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang is not okay. It is a blatant human rights abuse, and it fundamentally stands against what the foundations are of the United States and moreover western democracy.”
