ASP Announces New Fellow for Climate Security

American Security Project Welcomes Jessica Yllemo as Senior Fellow for Climate Security
Washington, D.C., January 18, 2022 – The American Security Project (ASP) is pleased to welcome Jessica Olcott Yllemo as the new Senior Fellow for Climate Security.
A leading expert on climate and national security, Yllemo brings a wealth of experience, facilitating U.S. interagency and international stakeholder collaboration at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Yllemo has designed, executed, and evaluated more than 45 domestic and international exercises and security cooperation missions.
Previously, she provided support to the U.S. Department of State’s (DOS) Office of Emergency Management and has supported various U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) projects. In addition, Ms. Yllemo has worked extensively with U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) entities, including the Center for Naval Analyses and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

Since 2005, ASP has been a leader in studying the intersection between national security and climate change. ASP travels the country through the ongoing National Climate Security Tour to talk to regional constituencies about the need for military resilience against the threats posed by climate change.
