Electricity generation accounts for about a quarter of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions – a percentage set to rise as electricity plays a larger role in transportation, home heating, industry, and more. As such, expanding the availability and reliability of zero-carbon electricity will be an essential component of the clean energy transition. Policymakers, innovators, and entrepreneurs are already working to dramatically expand production and deployment of clean energy as well as develop new technologies to make carbon-free energy more efficient and affordable. Electrification plays a key role in our clean energy future. From smart grids battery storage, innovation is playing a key role in helping the U.S. “electrify everything.”
