ASP Statement on the latest developments regarding North Korea and its nuclear facility

“We welcome today’s State Department announcement that North Korea has agreed to a moratorium on nuclear weapons tests and long range missile launches, and to allow the IAEA access to the Yongbon nuclear facility. We know that working with North Korea is difficult and that backtracking is possible but we hope these new initiatives are real and lasting. We are reminded that patient diplomacy is the only safe, sustainable and efficient way of solving issues like these.”
