Electronics Weekly – Magnetic fields add to pulsed fusion power toolkit

By Steve Bush | 28 March 2012 – 13:53

Strong magnetic fields could boost output energy from pulse fusion – one of the technologies vying for adoption in future nuclear fusion power stations.

Rather than attempting to sustain hydrogen fusion continuously in a magnetic container, pulsed fusion only requires that the deuterium and tritium are held physically in a hollow bead a few milimetres across.
