Bipartisan Delegation Hopes to Restore Fusion Funding

Two representatives from New Jersey recently visited the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), using the occasion to push for a restoration of funding for fusion research. President Obama’s budget request for FY2013 of $398 million would reduce funding for domestic fusion programs. Reps. Rush Holt (D-12) and Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11) praised PPPL’s program and said they will fight for funding for domestic fusion. The House voted to fund PPPL and other fusion programs, but action is needed in the Senate.
