Expertise: International Security, Leadership Analysis, Identity and Culture in Security Policy, North Korea
Derek Bolton recently received his PhD from the University of Bath, where he was awarded a fully funded scholarship to undertake research in the realm of international security and Foreign Policy Analysis. Derek’s work has paid special attention to the role of identity in decision-making, a sentiment he has explored within the context of North Korea. He currently works as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Bath.
Prior to the start of his PhD he worked in various capacities in DC, conducting research and analysis in the think tank community and providing program support at a non-profit contractor for State Department working in coordination with the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program.
