ASP COO Andrew Holland in the High North News
On February 26th, American Security Project Chief Operating Officer Andrew Holland was quoted in a High North News piece by Malte Humpert. The piece focuses on the threat unreliable communication in the polar region poses for the US.
Holland emphasizes that the US has continuously failed to address the poor communication capabilities in the Arctic. The Artic has been overlooked by the American military for quite some time. Holland states that the US “has fundamentally underinvested in Arctic operations.” As a result, military personal has had to spend time upkeeping the archaic communication systems in place instead of their other priorities.
The threat of Russia and China encroachment in the region has raised even further concerns about the current state of the US’s communication system.
