ASP COO Andrew Holland on Newsy
On December 2, ASP COO Andrew Holland spoke with Newsy’s James Packard on the Biden administration’s focus on tackling climate change. Andrew outlined the importance of ASP Board Member John Kerry’s role as the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and the intersectional nature of climate action and economic growth.
Andrew noted that exogenous shocks, like the pandemic, “can harm our economy, national security, and our very well-being and the climate and the impacts of climate change are kind of the ultimate exogenous shock.” Speaking on the intersectional objectives of tackling climate change and stimulating economic growth, Andrew observed that “it’s very notable that all of the cabinet officials so far have been pretty unified in the need to act on climate change, to do something about it, and to push hard on it.”
