“Magnetic Fusion Energy – Steps to Commercialization”
hosted by the American Security Project (ASP) on
Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 10am until 3pm.
ASP’s Washington office, 1100 New York Ave, NW, Suite 710W.
The purpose of this symposium will be to discuss and publicize the steps that fusion science has taken over the past decades, and outline a plan to bring it to commercialization.
This event will discuss the latest developments in magnetic fusion and how fusion is ready to be commercialized as a next-generation source of clean, safe, and secure energy.
ASP has been a leader in promoting fusion energy in Washington; we believe that it is potential source of energy that is cleaner, safer, and more sustainable than America’s current energy mix.
We were troubled that the Administration’s proposed budget slashed the research budget for Magnetic Fusion Energy, and we hope that this event will help to better make the case to both business and government that fusion energy is a worthwhile investment.
The format of the event will be as follows:
10:00-10:30
Presentation: Status of Magnetic Fusion Energy Research
10:30-12:00
Panel Discussion: What Does Business Need for Fusion Investment?
12:15-1:15
Keynote Speaker: General Lester Lyles, USAF(Ret)
(light lunch will be served)
1:30-3:00
Panel Discussion: A Plan for Accelerated Fusion Commercialization
