ASP’s Lt.Gen. Norman Seip Quoted in “Boyne City Gazette”
ASP Board Member, U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General (Ret.) Norman Seip was quoted in the Boyne City Gazette, “Michigan Military Bases Working to Mitigate Impact of Climate Change” in October of this year. Gen. Seip stressed the importance of the growing impact of climate change and how it affects global security.
“The time is now to think about how we’ll adapt to extreme weather events, food shortages, and infrastructure challenges posed by climate change – both in terms of keeping our own military installations and service members safe, and because climate change will make the world more volatile,” said Gen. Seip
He also touched upon ASP’s Global Security Defense Index on Climate Change, which shows that a significant number of countries view climate change as a national security risk. Lastly, Gen. Seip discusses the practical steps that the U.S. military has taken to curb the threat of climate change.
