Cheney on the terrorist attacks in Cairo
Following the terrorist attacks in Cairo this morning, killing six people, ASP’s CEO BGen Stephen A. Cheney USMC (Ret.) said:
As Egypt tries mightily to settle into a stable democracy, there are still those who desperately want nothing to do with it.
These extremists are using bombs to obtain the attention of the world press – and to some extent, it’s working. The vast majority of Egyptians are willing to work for a peaceful solution via elections, but they have no tolerance for terrorism, which is what the Muslim Brotherhood is perpetuating.
I strongly condemn those who are committing these atrocities and encourage Egypt to continue its current course towards a true democracy via parliamentary and presidential elections.
