Around the world, scientists are working towards nuclear fusion.  In India, Prof A K Rai of the department of Physics of AU has been given a grant to understand the behavior of plasma.  As reported by the Times of India in the article “Nuclear fusion to help generate power in future:”

“Scientists across the world are putting best efforts to understand the behaviour of plasma, a fourth state of matter which is made of ions and electrons. The efforts around the world is aimed to understand the behaviour of this plasma in the devise called Tokamak”, said Prof Rai.
