Members of ASP’s Consensus issued a statement on March 25, 2020 urging the Trump administration to invoke the full extent of the Defense Production Act (DPA).

The DPA, over the past week, has been utilized on a “narrow and limited basis”. In order to sufficiently address the current crisis at hand, the full potential of the DPA should be used, according to the signatories of the letter.

Signatories from the ASP Consensus Members include ASP President Brigadier General Stephen Cheney, USMCA (Ret,), Major General Paul D. Eaton, USA (Ret.), Brigadier General Robert Felderman, USA (Ret.), Vice Admiral Kevin Green, USN (Ret), ASP Board Member Secretary Chuck Hagel, Lieutenant General Arlen Jameson, USAF (Ret.), Secretary Lawrence Korb, and Ambassador Ronald Neumann.
