To the Editor:
The promise of fusion energy described by Stewart C. Prager (“How Seawater Can Power the World,” Op-Ed, July 11) is cause for hope and even in a time of budget restraint, investment. Consider that every existing power plant in the United States will need to be replaced by midcentury.
If the choice we have is to continue with old, dirty technology or invest in the energy technology of the future, I, for one, favor the future.
