Senate Energy and Water Subcommittee and the NNSA’s budget for FY13
On Tuesday the Senate Energy and Water Subcommittee approved the FY13 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill. Included in the bill is $11.5 billion ($500 million above FY12) for the National Nuclear Security Agency. The bill appropriates $7.5 billion for weapons activities and the Stockpile Stewardship Program that represents a $363 million increase over FY12; $2.4 billion for non-proliferation activities and to secure venerable nuclear materials; and $1 billion for naval reactors and research.
