Why New START Needs Ratification Now – Lt. Gen. Dirk Jameson [AUDIO]
On a conference call today, retired Air Force serviceman and former head of all U.S. Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, Lt. Gen. Dirk Jameson, said: “Don’t play politics with our national security,” referring to the Senate’s need to ratify the New START treaty during the lame duck session of Congress.
The General candidly discussed his arguments against the critics of the treaty, saying the treaty “Does not constrain the [U.S] missile defense system.”
Lt. Gen. Jameson expressed his worries that the if the treaty is not ratified in the lame duck, the U.S. relationship with Russia and our national security are at grave risk.
